  • Monte-Carlo’s great Opera House, the Salle Garnier, is one of Monaco’s most famous decorative emblems. This spectacular building, with its colonnaded and intricately designed façade, and extravagantly ornate auditorium, was built at the end of the 19th century by renowned Parisian architect Charles Garnier, whom the building is named after. The building was inaugurated in 1879 by Sarah Bernhard, and went on to host some of the world’s greatest opera singers, such as Patti, Caruso, and Chaliapine, who have all graced the stage here. The Opera House has also been the setting for many fabulous performances of both ballet and drama, including, Franck's "Gisele" (1896), and Massenet's "Cleopatra" (1914), and more recently Lowell Liebermann's "The Picture of Dorian Gray" (1996). Today the Opera House is an extremely popular evening venue offering world-class entertainment with fantastic opera and drama performances, as well as being home to the world-renowned dance company, Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo, which was re-created in 1985 by the Princess of Hanover, and the Monte-Carlo Opera.

The Théâtre du Fort Antoine, is situated on Avenue de la Quarantaine on the Rock of Monaco-Ville. This 18th century structure was once used as a fortress to defend the city, but is now used as a spectacular outdoor amphitheatre, which can hold up to 350 spectators in tiered seating. The magical atmosphere of watching dramatic performances under the sky is added to by the fantastic calibre of the acts themselves. Shows are held throughout the summer season, and are put on most nights.

The Atrium du Casino de Monte-Carlo, located within the famous casino, is home to the famous Little Singers (Les Petits Chanteurs). The young boys in this choir maintain a tradition that dates from the reign of Prince Antoine I in the 18th century, when a choir of children sang the prayers in the Palatine Chapel. In 1973, the Government of the Principality asked the late Philippe Debat, whose son Pierre is the current Chapel Master, to visit every country in the world and perform there with a troupe of young singers. Prince Rainier III tenderly called this choir of 26 boys "My Little Singing Ambassadors", and hence they got their name. The choir regularly performs at the atrium as well as touring the world. The atrium also stages many other musical performances including orchestra recitals.

Théâtre Princesse Grace, named after the principality’s much loved and mourned former royal consort, is located on avenue d'Ostende. The theatre is currently celebrating its 25th anniversary, and throughout the year puts on many dramatic performances, including musicals such as Jo et Joséphine, comedic pieces, gospel shows and musical evenings featuring performances by those such as the Choir of the Little Singers.

The Auditorium Rainier III is located on Boulevard Louis II, and has been home to the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra since 2002. It continues to put on world renowned orchestral recitals and concertos on a regular basis, as well as a plethora of other musical performances by other groups in its auditorium which can seat over a thousand people.

The Grimaldi Forum located on Avenue Princesse Grace is a new multi-purpose cultural centre, which includes a theatre with a 1880 seat capacity. The theatre regularly puts on fantastic plays, particularly of an innovative and creative nature. It also regularly hosts the Philharmonic Orchestra, the Monte-Carlo Opera and the Little Singers.
